Ahmed Said joined our team in October 2016. We are happy to have him on board, as he has an extensive record of legal expertise.
Furthermore, Said has acquired a wide experience in handling maritime claims as he has participated in numerous cases in the Gulf and the Red Sea region, which afforded him extensive knowledge and enabled him to handle conservatory arrests of vessels and other general maritime claims, resulting from collision accidents, pollution, maritime transport, demurrage claims, sinking of vessels and writes off, salvage, mortgage, supplies provided to the vessels, ownership disputes, etc.
Furthermore, Said has a long successful record in refuting the criminal liability of the vessels’ masters, officers, engineers, etc. for which they have been charged with in criminal cases as well as in associated misdemeanours in maritime incidents and transports.
Moreover, Said has powerful negotiations skills, recommends exceptional solutions and amicable settlements for disputes, when need be. He has an extensive record in solving seafarers’ and agents’ problems. He holds excellent connections when it comes to dealing with the competent authorities, administrative sectors, institutions and governmental authorities.
Said has further experience in following up environmental claims including coral reefs damage and pollution claims as a result of cleaning of holds and tanks, disposing of dead livestock, garbage and sewage overboard. He has vast experience in dealing with environmental violation cases claimed against petroleum companies and their platforms, fertilizer and chemical companies, and touristic villages overlooking beaches due to his familiarity with the Egyptian Environmental laws, treaties and related conventions.
Said has also previously worked as an insurance consultant at one of the major maritime transport companies. Through his previous experience in the insurance market, he has established connections with the major insurance companies which help him facilitate insurance with the best coverage and lowest instalment obtainable.
Said has excelled in drafting civil and commercial contracts, amicable agreements and preparing release and receipt documents.
Throughout his career, Said has handled various Civil claims; especially those related to real estate, border separation, cadastral surveys, land and property registrations before the Notary Public and Real Estate Authority as well as the registration/transfer of ownership of vessels flying the Egyptian flag before the Egyptian Authority for Maritime Safety.
